My main research field is the chemical composition and physico-chemical properties of carbohydrates in relation to the physiological response in monogastric animals (pigs, rats, mink). The projects relate to aspects of nutrition, health and welfare in animal production, and in relation to human nutrition, using in vitro methods and pigs and rats as animal experimentation models.

Research competences involve physical, chemical and microscopic analyses to characterise the carbohydrate fraction, and development and implementation of animal experimentation models including surgical techniques for studying digestion processes.
